Hexalines
Table of contents:
I had found this game on a list on the US Windows Phone Store, and since I like this type of game, I bought it and started playing it. Now I've become a bit addicted to it, whenever I have time to spare, I play it.
Hexalines is a game where we must get the highest number of scores or eliminate our enemies. Our tools will be some hexagons that are like pipes, where our color passes. As we play, we must arm the pipes and eliminate our enemies' pipes before they eliminate us, or we run out of space on the map (and we have a lower score than them). The game starts with a hexagon where it has 3 exits, one red, one blue and one green, which corresponds to each player. It will take turns, and in each one we will have a different hexagon to place. Every time we connect a pipe, we will add a number of points, which can go down if we lose any connected.
So, in each turn our terrain will increase and we can be given the situation that we are near another opponent's hexagon. If we place one of our hexagons on the way between ours and the enemy's, and it connects with both of their pipes, we will eliminate the opponent's.In this way, we can monopolize more ground. But it's not that easy, since the hexagons can also be rotated, and give us the situation that they block the path we had planned, and we have to find another .
We can also rotate ours, and even those that we have not placed, as long as it has a gray color, which means that it does not belong to anyone (this happens when a hexagon is placed and it does not connected to no pipeline).
Something that surprised me, is that the intelligence of the computer is quite good, I have played many games and I have not found a trend let the opponent follow. Something different can always happen, and that generates a lot of addiction and above all, fun.
If the game fails, it's because it doesn't have multiplayer, the truth is that it's the perfect game for you to have it , and it would add a lot of fun to it. Let's hope that in the next versions, the developers will be encouraged to include it.
Another thing that may fail is that the graphic quality and the interface is "just and necessary", we are not going to see color or special effects, upon entering we will have a simple menu with the options and the achievements of the game do not connect to Xbox Live.In the options, we can configure some things like the number of opponents (which can be 1 or 2), the size of the map grid and it can even be chosen that only one type of hexagon appears , but I think it takes a little fun out of it.
So, is it worth buying?
At 100%, if you like this type of game, without a doubt it is one more title that you should be interested in trying, it has a very high level of replayability and is very entertainingAnd at $0.99, it's a great price (also has a trial version), and it's available on both Windows Phone 8 and 7.
