Parking Mania

Parking Mania, along with the Game of Life, recently became Nokia Lumia exclusive, and I took the time to play Parking Mania a bit, as I loved it. it drew more attention than the Game of Life. Let's just say that I got what I expected from this game

Parking Mania is a game in which we must park a vehicle in the place indicated to us Although the concept is simple, the game It offers a lot of variety in each level, for example, different types of cars, like taxis or trucks, which will be more difficult to park, and maps that are quite different from each other, so there are always different things to do.

Once we start the game, and it finishes loading, we find the menu, which has the "Play", "Bookmarks", "Shop" and "Achievements" button, and on the top left are the options where we can change some settings about the handling of the car (I strongly recommend that you change the handling of the car through the steering wheel, and not with the accelerometer).

The "Markers" have the list of scores, in the "Shop" we can buy more lives, in the "Achievements" we have which of them we got and which are yet to be achieved. And as you can imagine, in "Play" we enter the levels, where we choose which one to play.

Something curious is that the game gives you 220 levels so you can choose the one you prefer, you don't advance by “chapters” like normally we are used to seeing in games for smartphones.

The controls are easy, on the right we have the accelerator, if we move the pedal forward, we accelerate, and if we go backwards, we go back, naturally the deeper we go, the faster we will go. On the left we have the steering wheel (if we choose to control it through it) and above the horn.

The objective is easy, we must control our car towards the parking lot that the game indicates, however, sometimes it will ask us to go along a particular path. Along the way we can find different obstacles such as cars, which will make us start the level from scratch, or buildings or street edges, which if we hit them, we will lose a life. Likewise, we can grab coins that are on the level to then buy more lives.

Graphically speaking the game looks good, the textures look neat, but it's nothing special, just like the music.Something I saw (and as you can see in the photos), is that the translation of the game seems not to have been checked, since when we pause the game, the window shows us a button that says "Manu", instead of “Menu”, and in the Level, there is a loose “{1}” that is wrong. Minor errors, but they must be named.

So is it worth buying?

The price of the game is $2.99, in my opinion, a little high for what it is, although fun, it shows It's a game that was made in a short time, but that doesn't mean it isn't entertaining, but for $0.99 it would have been excellent.

If you have a few bucks to spare, and you like what Parking Mania is all about, this is a good buy. If not, check something else in the store.
