There are only a few days left until CES 2018 takes place in Las Vegas, one of the most important technology fairs of the year that in this occasion promises to bring us interesting news in the computing sector.

Proximity makes manufacturers start to make a move and one of them is Dell, which has announced that at the Las Vegas fair we will be able to see how one of the laptops with the best market of the brand, goes under the scalpel and undergoes an update. It's the Dell XPS 13.

This is the Dell XPS 13, which stands out first for offering an aesthetic change, as the firm has stylized it by minimizing the screen bezels until they are reduced by 23% and thus reach a coverage of 80.7% of the body. In this way, a screen with very small frames similar to what we can find in desktop monitors is achieved. And all in less thickness, as the Dell XPS 13 now measures 11.6 millimeters at its thickest and 7.8 millimeters at its thinnest.

The screen is 13.3 inches and will offer a 4K resolution or what is the same, 3840 x 2160 and 331 pixels per inch(there will be another Full HD version). Some numbers that are completed with others such as a brightness of 400 nits, a contrast of 1.5000: 1 and sRGB color coverage of 100%. In the event that 4K proves excessive, they will also offer a more affordable version with a Full HD screen.

"In addition, the new XPS 13 offers a new finish. Along with the version covered in black carbon fiber and silver aluminum lid, now comes a new version with a Rose Gold lid, a kind of metallic pink focused mainly on the female market."

Now with Kaby Lake R

Inside we are going to find eighth generation Intel processors offering to choose between an Intel Core i5-8250U 3, 4 GHz and an Intel Core i7-8550U up to 4 GHz. These are supported by a RAM memory ranging from 4 to 16 GB of LPDDR3 type, an integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics and a storage of 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB of type SATA or 1 TB PCIe.

Connectivity is supported by the adoption of three USB Type-C ports, two Thunderbolt 3 and one USB 3.1 that are complemented by the inclusion of a reader for MicroSD. A computer that also has the Windows Hello unlock system of Windows 10 to authenticate the user with the face or with a fingerprint sensor, hidden in the power button.

Dell also announces that it will improve the autonomy of the equipment and now it will reach 20 hours with the same charge in the model with a Full HD screenwhich will be reduced to 11 hours if we opt for the 4K model.

Price and availability

The new Dell XPS 13 can already be found in the manufacturer's online store and in the Microsoft Store at a starting price of 999, $99 in the version more affordable.
