There was already talk about the possibility of Asus introducing a product with Dual Boot between Android and Windows 8, and during CES 2014, those rumors came true. It revealed the Asus Transformer Book Duet TD300, a convertible running Android and Windows 8.1

This product, despite the comments about whether or not to put two operating systems on a single device, is still barbaric specifications and an interesting price .

What impressed me the most about this laptop are the specs it offers for $600. It's not that it's not cheap, but if we compare it with a Surface 2 Pro that has a smaller screen and less storage for a price of 900 euros, the Asus Transformer Book Duet ends up attracting attention (and you suspect why the price). .

Also, to that we must add that it has the world of Android and Windows 8.1 in one place, which at least for me adds a lot. And as an extra piece of information, Asus included on the keyboard a special button to be able to change the operating system to another.

What if has to be mentioned is the weight of this convertible, which being 1.9 kg, is quite high for a product with a 13.3-inch screen. But neither can you ask for everything, since it already offers enough.

Price and availability

As we discussed above, the price of the Asus Transformer Book Duet TD300 is $599, and it has not yet been specified when it will be released to the market.

Personally, I think it's an excellent convertible that allows you to have two worlds in one place: Windows 8.1 to do everyday tasks, and then the use of Android is complemented with its zillion applications available. In addition, it offers us the opportunity to remove it from the keyboard to use it as a tablet, and all this without sacrificing internal specifications.

And for that price, it seems like a product that makes a lot of sense.

What do you think of this Asus and its Dual Boot?
