The new laptops

As IFA 2013 continues its course, companies continue to make the official presentation of their devices with Windows 8. This time it's time to review what new laptops, tablets and hybrids will bring us Asus.

There are three devices that Asus includes in its catalog, the Transformer Book Trio, the Transformer Book T300, and the Zenbook UX301 and UX302. Let's see what each of them has.

Asus Transformer Book Trio

The Asus Transformer Book Trio at first glance looks like a stock hybrid with a screen detachable from its keyboard dock, but the device is more than that, since its proposal is to offer three devices in one: a laptop, a tablet, and a desktop computer.

The laptop is defined when we have the screen attached to the keyboard, there we can run Windows 8 through an Intel Core i7 processor, 4GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. But if we detach the screen we will have one more device, which will run Android, it will be powered by an Intel Atom processor and 2GB of RAM, the screen is 11.6 inches with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

But there is still more, if we have the screen detached from the keyboard (and from all the hardware that will drive Windows 8), we can connect it to an external monitor to use it as a desktop computer. There we will also find WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB ports, microHDMI, and a mini DisplayPort.

Asus Transformer Book T300

"

The second device presented is a more common one, the Asus Transformer Book T300 a transformable device, in it we will find several configurations that include latest generation Intel Core processors, 4 to 8GB of RAM, and SSD storage up to 265GB."

The 13.3-inch screen --which of course is touchscreen-- has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. On its sides there is a USB 3.0 port, a microHDMI, and a microSD slot.

If we add the dock with keyboard, we will have an additional USB port and an increase in autonomy up to 8 hours.

Asus Zenbook UX301 and UX302

Asus has also given its flagship Zenbook laptop a facelift, the model UX301It will come in two options: one with a Full HD screen and another with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels on a 13.3-inch diagonal.

Its processors will now be the latest generation Intel Core (Haswell), with up to 8GB of RAM, and 512GB in SSD format for storage. Model UX302 will be differentiated by including an option with GeForce GT730M graphics and up to a 750GB hard drive.

About the design, they will maintain the wedge-type body, but now they will incorporate a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 glass on its lid to give it more resistance to falls and the occasional scratch.

Asus has not given a price or availability date for these devices, but we do not doubt that in the coming weeks they will make an appearance in some markets.
