Windows 10 Lean is Microsoft's proposal to rejuvenate the market for basic tablets with Windows 10

On many occasions I have had to perform technical service work for a relative or acquaintance with computers, tablets, mobiles and to tell the truth with almost any gadget that has a screen involved. And I have been surprised many times how, especially when dealing with tablets or _smartphones_ people bet on low-end products on many occasions"

I will not go into assessing the reasons, each one has their own and they are surely very justified. But I have seen how after a while of use they complain about the operation.Either because of the _hardware_ or the _software_ and almost always because of a mixture of both, I find faces of disappointment. Of course, you can't ask for pears from the elm tree and much more goes into the price than a simple brand. We find ourselves with tablets and _smartphones_ with Android (above all) but also with Windows 10 that are more than fair and this is something what they want to end from Microsoft

And they want to do it with a proposal called Windows 10 Lean. It is a light version of Windows 10 that will be intended for low-end devices on the market whose first tracks we can follow on Twitter. And it is that not all of them have the same specifications to move the same resources We cannot ask the same thing from a Surface Pro than from a tablet that we see on sale for 195 euros in a department store.

Although they seem to be similar, they are not, and that shows with use.Storage limitations, screen problems, connectivity... in general performance and many times derived from the little space they offer and which is absorbed by the operating system. Windows Update can cause problems due to lack of space to store the updates

Windows 10 Lean is a lighter version of Windows 10, an option that loses about 2 GB thanks to file deletion that are rarely used by users, especially by users who are not going to require great system features.

Avoiding fragmentation

Being a slimmed down version, it takes up less storage space and frees up more capacity for users to access updates released by Microsoft. This makes it easier for a larger number of tablets to have the latest version of the operating system.

Windows 10 Lean also improved the process that takes place with each installation eliminating the possibility of errors being generated and so ensure that it will be more secure and all this without having to count on the limitations of Windows 10 S Mode.

Little else is known about Windows 10 Lean. It should hit the market at the end of the year, coinciding with the arrival of Redstone 5, but that's nit-picking, especially if we take into account that we're still waiting for the spring update to be released (we don't know what to call it anymore). A version of Windows to give a second life to many tablets that are now dying in drawers. Will they make it?
