Panasonic warns that some Toughpads may suffer from battery problems: it's time to contact technical service
If we learned anything last year with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, it was the importance in the manufacture of electronic devices when it comes to batteries. A component often overlooked that has not been given all the importance it should, something that cannot be ignored since it can affect our he alth.
And from that event we have learned from users, authorities and companies since from that moment on any problem with a battery has caused a climate of tension and nervesthat has permeated among the manufacturers themselves who have been seen to carry out massive _recall_ (we already saw it with the GoPro Karma to correct the problem.
And that's what's happening now with Panasonic and its range of Toughpad Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3 tablets. A series that now must be repaired, at least its batteries, due to a problem discovered as a result of carrying out various reports.
A problem that has caused the Japanese company to appeal to users of these tablets to contact the corresponding technical service to replace the battery.
And according to Panasonic there are some 280,000 units of this ruggedized tablet with Windows 10 in circulation about which it has received reports warning of combustion and explosion problems in the battery in a period from March to April of this year. This has caused alarm bells to go off.
To this end, Panasonic has prepared the following list with the serial numbers and SKU of the affected Toughpad unitsThey only have to check if their tablet is on that list and if necessary contact their technical service and proceed in the most appropriate manner.
A problem that seems to be caused by the extreme conditions to which the tablet can be subjected, since it is not in vain that it is a family of tablets designed to withstand even use in the military field with the harsher conditions. And it is in this case when the fault that causes the battery to explode can occur
So if you have affected equipment contact Panasonic so they can guide you through the steps to take and remove the battery to use the tablet with the network cable while the company determines what is the solution to fix this problem.
