The Khiron-Sigma KS-Pro is a terminal that wants to unite Qualcomm and Windows 10 via crowfunding
Table of contents:
Throughout the MWC in Barcelona this 2017 we had no news from Microsoft regarding new gadgets that hit the market. Well, to be exact, what we didn't see were smartphones , since convertibles running on Windows 10 we had the ones we wanted and more when we had launches from Lenovo, HP, Samsung.
The fact is that yes, we saw, but we have been yearning for a new terminal under Windows 10 Mobile in the form of a mobile phone. We may be very bad used to it, who knows, but we are so lacking in news that any news makes us dream about it.And that is what has happened to us with Khiron-Sigma and the KS-Pro.
But wait, don't go out looking for it in stores yet because it is a new project that arises in the shadow of crowdfundinghow fashionable it is lately. A device running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor that would use Windows 10 as the operating system and that we could not see until CES in Las Vegas next year.
Not the Surface Phone but could it look like it?
A proposal that also comes from a company that is somehow linked to Microsoft, at least as far as emotional ties are concerned, because Khiron-Sigma is a start-up formed by former members of Microsoft.
But the question is… What can we expect from the KS-Pro? From the outset everything indicates that it would not be a smartphone to use, or at least not a phone as we know it today. It would be a new device, who knows if it could be included in that new typology that many expect would combine concepts typical of a telephone, such as LTE connectivity and the functionality of an UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC).
We would be like this before one of the first marriages, who knows if well matched, in which the powerful Qualcomm processors and Windows 10 applications would share a roof.
Of the rest of the specifications, you can already imagine it, according to the processor we are talking about. Thus, we are facing a device that would come loaded inside with the aforementioned processor supported by an 8 GB RAM, with a storage capacity of 128 GB and a battery of 10,300 mAh. And crowning everything and to make it striking an 8-inch Super AMOLED screen.
For now it is a project in development, and we already know the danger of some proposals via crowdfunding. A development thanks to IndieGoGo that to come to fruition requires financing of 300,000 dollars in order to opt for a device with a price of about 500 dollars (at the sale would be significantly higher).
