Looking for a tablet with a built-in projector? The firm Akyumen dares with this concept
Who said the tablet market was dying? Okay, it's not going through its prime, but you may just need a breath of fresh air to re-engage users. That premise is what they could at least sustain from the Akyumen company, which despite the fact that its name takes us to the East, is based in sunny California.
And it is that under this brand we are going to see one of the most striking concepts in the tablet world and not only under Windows, but it even happens to be the most original even though we include such disparate ecosystems like Android or iOS.How about a projector on a tablet? Well, that's what these new models with Windows 10 have.
It must be said that these are tablets designed for both the business market and the general consumer and are grouped into two different models. Two models, a phablet (or so it seems) and a tablet to gain a foothold in the market. Let's see what their weapons are.
Akyumen Holophone
A phablet more than a tablet (the line that separates them is very thin) that we could call dual, since it comes with two operating systems installed in parallel such as Windows 10 and Android. It has a 7-inch screen and Full HD resolution powered by a 4-core Intel Cherry Trail Z8300 processor supported by 4 GB of RAM to which are added 128 GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD cards). It also has support for Wi-Fi connectivity, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and supports 4G networks.
This is a model that will be available from November 2016 and whose main claim lies in the use of ahigh definition projector with 35 lumens of brightness with which we can project a screen of up to 100 inches.
It is complemented in the multimedia section with a 13 megapixel main camera and a 5 megapixel front camera, all powered by a battery 3500 mAh.
Akyumen Falcon
This model has a 10.1-inch screen with Full HD resolution and the same processor as the Akyumen Holofone also supported by 4 GB of RAM. It offers 128 GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card and the whole set is powered by a 7380 mAh battery.
In the multimedia section, it mounts a 13-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel front camera that complement the high-definition projector, in this case with 40 lumens of brightnesswhich, as in the previous case, will allow us to project a screen of up to 100 inches.
As in the first, this is a model that will come with Windows 10 and Android already installed and is expected to reach the markets in November this year at a variable price depending on the pack we choose.
Striking concepts, there is no doubt, that we will have to see how they penetrate among the users, although being somewhat critical, they have a difficult place in a market as delicate as that of tablets.
