HP would also launch a convertible similar to Microsoft's Surface
In case anyone was missing evidence of the triumph of the Surface's convertible form factor, now we have to HP will also join the trend of launch equipment of this type, with its HP Specter x2 12 This convertible tablet has not yet been officially announced, but we know of its existence because the company has already published (by error) a page with its price and features, on the HP Switzerland site (obviously they already downloaded it, but it can still be consulted thanks to Google's cache).
What would this HP Specter x2 offer us interesting? The most notable of its specifications is the use of the new Core m5 processors and Intel's m7, corresponding to the Skylake generation, which promises 40% higher performance than the criticized previous generation. It will also include 2 USB-C ports, and 5 and 8 megapixel front and rear cameras, respectively.
"In any case, its resolution will be lower than that of the Surface Pro 3, as it has a 12-inch screen of only 1920x1080 pixels , compared to the 2160x1440 offered by the Microsoft tablet. As for RAM and storage, it will allow you to include between 128 and 256 GB SSD, and between 4 and 8 GB of RAM, depending on the configuration."
It will include an aluminum kickstand on the back, to be able to support it on a table or on our legs, and the keyboard will be backlit and uncoupling. The weight of the tablet will be 820 grams, and 1.29 kilograms when also considering the keyboard. The thickness of the tablet will be only 8mm, and that of the keyboard will be 5.1mm.
The price that was published on the HP website was 1550 euros, which I would say is a bit expensive, since That's quite a bit more than most Surface Pro 3 configurations cost, which itself is already going to be surpassed by the new version that Microsoft will announce on October 6.
Fortunately, there is a possibility that this price is wrong, and/or simply corresponds to a value whatever is written to fill in space, while the page is updated with the correct information. Let's hope that's the case, otherwise it's hard for this HP equipment to be competitive in the market.
