Although these days it is the new Microsoft Surfaces that are stealing all the attention and attention of the press, other manufacturers of the Windows ecosystem continue to launch very interesting equipment that is worth knowing.

"

One of them is the HP ENVY 8 Note, a small tablet with Windows 10 whose specifications had already been leaked weeks ago, and that stands out for being oriented towards productivity and freehand taking notes, using a built-in stylusthat integrates with OneNote, and also with HP&39;s own application called Instant Note."

HP ENVY 8 Note, specifications

Among the other features of the ENVY 8 Note there is an 8-inch screen with Full HD resolution, and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Inside we have a state-of-the-art Intel Atom x5-Z8300 processor (which offers performance close to but less than the Surface 3). The combination of these two elements delivers a battery life of up to 6, 25 hours

The weight of the device is 362 grams, and its thickness is only 7.7 millimeters. It includes a 5 MP rear camera with AutoFocus and a 2 MP front camera, designed for video conferencing.

It also includes a micro USB 2.0 port that serves for charging and also for connecting accessories, and a microSD card slot that allows you to expand the 32 GB of internal storage Plus there's a dual microphone specially optimized for Cortana.

A full keyboard that doubles as a dock

To set the ENVY 8 Note apart from other similar alternatives, HP has designed a unique 10-inch keyboard-dock that should give us the Same experience as typing on a full keyboard (it even comes with an integrated touchpad).

This keyboard-dock comes with a slot that allows you to hold the tablet both horizontally and vertically, and thus work on it as if we were using a laptop.

HP also solves the portability problem of this accessory well, since the keyboard includes another slot on the back designed to store the tablet and thus easily transport it along with the keyboard-dock, the stylus , and a cover.

The only problem I see with this solution devised by HP is that it doesn't allow you to readjust the angle of the screen, instead it it is fixed. But other than that, it's a very useful mechanism for maintaining the portability of a small tablet, but adding the convenience of a touchpad and full keyboard.

HP ENVY 8 Note, price and availability

The HP ENVY 8 Note will go on sale on November 8 in the United States at a price of $329, for the which is included the stylus. The keyboard-dock and case will be sold separately for $100. In other words, for only $429 we can purchase the complete package.

Unfortunately, HP has not yet provided official pricing and arrival date information for other locations, such as Europe and Latin America.
