For everyone interested in purchasing a premium quality tablet with Windows, HP has just launched a very attractive proposition. This is the HP Pro Tablet 608, a small tablet with excellent design and good specifications, designed for the professional public.

The first thing that stands out about this device, in addition to its neat appearance, is its 7.9-inch screen, which unlike of most Windows tablets offers a 4:3 aspect ratio with high resolution (2048 x 1536), making it easy to use for reading documents in portrait mode .Also striking are the stereo speakers, built into the front of the device.

Inside we find a Intel Atom Quad Core Z8500 processor (similar to the one that comes in the Surface 3), 4 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage, expandable via microSD. Also included are front and front cameras, 2 and 8 megapixels respectively, and dual microphone to be able to record audio using noise cancellation.

The Pro Tablet 608 weighs around 450 grams, is only 8.5mm thick, and promises us a long battery life up to 8 hours (I think this section falls a bit short). It also includes a series of tools aimed at system administrators, such as HP Client Security.

Accessories, price and availability

As interesting as the equipment itself is the set of accessories that HP will market with it.One of them is a dock that will be connected via USB-C, and that will allow you to load the tablet while gaining access to other ports: HDMI, USB and an RJ45 network port. No images of this dock yet, but HP promises it will be small and light enough to fit comfortably in a backpack or briefcase.

An external keyboard will also be offered, which can attach magnetically to the tablet (Surface-style). This keyboard will include a slot for a stylus, which will also be sold separately. Finally, HP will also sell a protective case for this tablet, which will be specially designed to resist impacts and drops

The HP Pro Tablet 608 will cost $479, and its version with Windows 8.1 will be on sale from the middle of next month . Later, in mid-August, another version with Windows 10 pre-installed will go on sale.
