Specifications and design ToughPad FZ-M1
This tablet is part of the Toughpad professional line whose main design motive is to achieve devices that are resistant to both shocks and dust and water. That is why the measurements or weight are usually above the average for devices on the consumer market. We could call the ToughPad FZ-M1 the little brother of the 10.1-inch ToughPad FZ-G1 tablet.
Toughpad FZ-M1 measures 202.6 x 132 x 18 mm and weighs 544 grams. Panasonic has confirmed this to be the slimmest MIL-STD-810G (1.5 meter drop) and IP65 dust and water resistant tablet on the market.
Regarding the technical characteristics, the use of an Intel Haswell Core i5 vPro processor that runs Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit and does not require active dissipation stands out. It mounts a 7-inch IPS screen that promises to be readable in broad daylight (500 nits brightness) and can be touch operated even with gloves. Its resolution is 1,280 x 800 pixels.
Highly customizable through modules
It is a configurable tablet for professional use including three expansion bays to choose from among the following options: barcode reader, smartcard reader, serial port or LAN.
These options will be complemented by the most common: GPS, Wi-Fi, NFC, RFID, Bluetooth 4.0 and the possibility of enjoying 4G.
It is available with a standard battery that promises up to 8 hours of operation and a high-capacity battery can also be purchased that offers up to 16 hours of operation. As a positive point, you can change the battery without turning off the device.
