Microsoft Surface 2
The Surface 2 and Surface 2 Pro went on sale yesterday, and we already have the first one in our hands, the tablet with Windows RT. We're preparing a full review of all aspects of the tablet, but we wanted to bring you some first impressions in the meantime.
"If I had to sum up my feelings with the Surface 2 in one sentence, it would be Microsoft listens Reviewing the Surface RT review, it&39;s very curious see how the biggest complaints have been corrected. To give two examples: the two-position Kickstand is now perfect for using the Surface on your lap, and they&39;ve improved the charger so that it clips perfectly into the socket."
From Surface 2 I would also highlight the great design Assembled almost perfectly - there is some detail that does not quite fit -, the color silver looks really good on you. Between that and the screen, which is now 1080p and looks amazingly good, Microsoft's tablet is a real treat for the eyes.
Just by entering your password, Surface 2 retrieves all your settings and preferences. Almost magical.
Inside it has also improved a lot, both in performance and specifications as well as in software and user experience. Microsoft has done a good job with Windows 8.1 to make the system easier and more enjoyable to use You don't have to use the control panel at all, and the The fact of being able to put custom backgrounds on the home screen, although it may seem silly, I love it.
However, what I like most about Windows 8.1 is not that, but its synchronization Just by entering my account, settings are synchronized , wallpapers, apps, passwords, home screen layout, or even shared folders. I was quite surprised when I went to choose an image for an article and saw that there were the images that I had saved in the Images folder>"
The Surface 2 that Microsoft has lent us comes with a backlit touch keyboard, Touch Cover 2 At the moment the sensations are good, I have the impression that I am more precise than with the original Touch Cover. The gestures that can be done in it (for example, to move the cursor or select the text) can be very useful, but I still haven't got the hang of them and I don't have a list of all the gestures that can be done.
The backlight is very subtle, but sufficient. We can control the brightness directly with the keyboard buttons, and to avoid foolishly wasting energy it automatically deactivates after a while in which we do not have our hands on it of the keyboard (I have to investigate and see where it has the sensor that activates the backlight when you are going to put your hands on it).
Overall, I'm really liking the Surface 2. I imagine that with use I will catch more defects, but for now it's not bad at all, and I would say that Microsoft has done a more than good job. In a few days you will have in Xataka Windows the complete analysis and more extensive of Surface 2 (you will have the Surface 2 Pro in Xataka), and we will see if these good first impressions are maintained.
