We compare Surface 2 and Surface 2 Pro with their predecessors

Anonim

Today, Microsoft introduced the next generation of Surface. On the outside, perhaps, we see the same terminal that was presented last year, but it is because Microsoft placed a lot of emphasis on the specifications and accessories.

The Surface 2 continues to load with Windows RT, a sign that Microsoft wants to continue betting on this version that caused so many problems in the last. On the other hand, we also see a Surface 2 Pro with much more power and better prepared for the use of different types of users. To give us a general idea of what we have in each product, compared to the previous generation, let's see the following table:

From what you can see, there are interesting changes in both terminals. First off, it's weird that Microsoft didn't improve the camera on the Surface 2 Pro but on the RT, maybe they wanted to save money on the first one.Of course, the Surface 2 Pro comes with some more than robust specifications: a next-generation processor and the possibility of including up to 8GB of RAM, so that makes up for the lack of a better camera.

Luckily, we now have 1080p screens on both tablets, and although the battery remains the same in both versions, they ensure that autonomy is better . At least in the Pro, I'm sure it's thanks to Intel's Haswell processors.

Focusing on the Surface 2 Pro, we see that from one generation to another no significant changes except inside Maybe Microsoft wanted to make a difference with the accessories, besides, what other external changes could we see in a product like Surface? At least I have a hard time imagining something.

No work has been done to reduce the weight of the product in any of the two versions, and it is a pity because a lightweight product is always draws attention. But it can be justified with the fact that the weight that the tablets already had in the previous generation was not serious, at least they did not increase.

We'll see how the story continues with the Surface for the rest of the week, as now comes the stage of distilling information.

Do you see a significant change in each generation or do you think they have become a little slack?
