The new Surface 2 may arrive in a couple of months

The news broke a few hours ago, through the NeoWin news portal: the first details of the Windows Surface Pro tablet update, in its version 2 .
Improvements in the second version
The list of hardware news is not particularly long, and it seems more like an update than an evolution of the device. But looks can be deceiving, and there are more changes than you might think at first glance.
- Haswell processor, based on a Core i5.
- Increase of RAM to 8Gb. Although it seems that it may be optional.
- Redesign of the tablet foot, speculating that it could accept more viewing angles.
- The design of the new Surface 2 will be the same or very similar to the current PRO.
Our colleagues from Xataka did a complete analysis of the 4th generation of Intel Core microprocessors, and of which I would like to highlight two aspects that will have an impact on the Surface 2.
The first deals with the core processes. I suppose it will integrate the Y' version of the i5, which is focused on improving the already much improved consumption of the processor, which is also designed specifically for tablets.
This way we could have a Surface 2 far exceeding the 3 and a half hours that a current Surface PRO supports running at full speed.
How much? I couldn't say, but it wouldn't be unreasonable to think of 7 or more hours of autonomy.
The second aspect is added to the expansion of available RAM memory, 4Gb. current to some optional 8Gb. Thus, this increase in memory, which is very significant, is added to the greater power of the new Intel processors.
That, even having a considerably lower consumption than the predecessor models, they have a greater processing and calculation capacity.
Other things stay the same Device layout, screen size, keyboard covers, and price . If anything, the name change, since the Surface PRO will be called Surface 2, and the RT will continue to be Surface RT 2 - when it is released.
As a curiosity, note that it is the same processor that the latest models of MacBooks have and that makes the saying ">" true
