Kicking off on CES 2013 Brands start revealing their new devices running Windows 8 inside, and unsurprisingly Lenovo It has not taken long to sign up with an interesting novelty. After boasting interesting concepts like the IdeaPad Yoga or the ThinkPad Twist, now the company is entering the huge hybrid market with the Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon.
All-in-one computer and tablet at the same time
At first glance the IdeaCentre Horizon passes before our eyes as a simple all-in-one desktop computer, but it's not. This device, which has a large 27-inch touch screen, hides inside the soul of a tablet, which requires its conversion between it and an all-in-one just by deploying a support on the back.
We have already seen the concept with the Sony Tap 20 a few months ago, and now Lenovo signing up with this hybrid we can already say that companies are betting heavily on designs that perhaps none of us would have imagined and of course what better support could they have than the release of the very flexible Windows 8.
But in addition to the inclusion and use of Windows 8 and its new interface, Lenovo has seen itself in the task of including some other additional software, which mainly highlights a multiuser interface namedAura from which we can install applications available in the Lenovo App Shop, as well as games and even the well-known BlueStacks to run some exclusive Android devices.
Technical characteristics
We don't know much about its technical characteristics, we only mention its panel with a 1080p resolution with multi-touch support, next-generation Nvidia GeForce graphics, and Intel Core processors i7 of the latest generation.
Some USB 3.0 ports, HDMI output, audio input and output ports, as well as its SD card slot. One piece of information that we really miss knowing exactly is the duration of its battery in tablet mode, because the company limits itself to mentioning a little more than two hours of autonomy , so the exact data would be essential to be able to give the device a good or bad credit.
Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon, availability and price
The Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon will be available around early next summer, priced at approximately 1 700 dollarsFor now it was announced only for the US but hopefully it will cross over to some other country after its release on the American market.
