Snapdragon 821 is Qualcomm's bet to retain the throne in the field of mobile processors
Processors in mobile devices are becoming more powerful and among all brands Qualcomm has until recently been the queen of the cake with the most powerful processors that all brands were fighting to useā¦ until recently.
"And it is that after the fiasco of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and its toaster mode problems suffered by some terminals, especially the HTC One M9 , the brand has seen its supremacy threatened by other manufacturers such as Mediatek, Samsung or Huawei."
In this sense, it seemed essential to launch a more efficient processor that would solve the problems suffered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 (It is mounted by the Lumia 950 XL) and currently we already have the Snapdragon 820 with us, a processor mounted by models such as the LG G5, Xiaomi Mi 5, or Sony Xperia X Performance
However, the performance, although very good, has not come to fruition as the company would like to stand up to other alternatives , which has made the American company strive with a new model for its catalog and between the arrival of the Snapdragon 823 or even the Snapdragon 830, today the development of the Snapdragon 821 has been announced.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 uses the new Kryo quad-core architecture that allows it to reach speeds of up to 2.4GHz and would come to stand up to the the new Kirin 955 incorporated in the Huawei P9, the Exynos 8890 in the new Galaxy S7 range or the Mediatek mt6589 hexacore.

The company seeks with this new processor to offer, along with greater power, generate battery savings and more optimized performance, both Thus, it is ensured that the Snapdragon 821 improves performance by 10% compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 820.
Who knows if the Snapdragon 821 could be the heart of the new Microsoft terminals that we expect for 2017, well let's remember that the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL have already bet on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 and Snapdragon 810 inside and the performance has been remarkable.
The question that remains in the air is if this Snapdragon 821 will be the Qualcomm processor to bet on in 2017 or only in the second half of 2016and both the Snapdragon 823 and 830 disappear or the developments of these other two models continue ahead, since Microsoft already had support for the latter.
