The wait is over and the Anniversary Update will bring Hotspot 2.0 to Windows 10 Mobile
Have you ever had to use your computer or your mobile and you have not been able for one reason or another to access the Internet? It is a strange feeling, due to such a basic fact that total connectivity is something more and more usual, so much so that there are times when without the network present we don't know what to do with our _gadgets_… at least on some occasions.
The importance of communications, of network connections, makes companies increasingly take care of this aspect both in _hardware_ and in _software_ and this need to have good access to the cloud is what is revealed with the news that features Microsoft and support for Hotspot 2.0
With Hotspot 2.0 what is intended is that users have secure access to Wi-Fi networks, especially when we are referring to public networks or at least in crowded spaces, such as train stations, airports, libraries…
Hotspot 2.0 has been promoted by the Wi-Fi Alliance and organizations such as the Wireless Broadband Alliance. And Microsoft also wants to join this step to seek greater security, so apparently they have in mind and are working on offering support for Hotspot 2.0 in Windows 10 Mobile with the Anniversary Update.
This is a functionality that is already being tested in internal builds and that could come the least expected day to the members of the program Insider.
And what would Hotspot 2.0 mean to your phone? First of all, greater security, since when accessing a network in a public space we could scrutinize all available Wi-Fi networks as we do now, but looking specifically for Hotspot 2 networks.0 available. Hotspot 2.0 also offers a series of advantages such as:
- Auto login experience for users
- Increased security for public Wi-Fi access
- Reduced SSIDs (or Single SSID) to support different types of users
- Users are now more visible and use the Wi-Fi network allowing advanced analysis for a better service offer
What it does seem for now is that from Redmond they are getting their batteries with the Anniversary Update which is getting closer every day, with features and functions demanded by users and who knows, if adding a greater fluidity in operation to the whole set.
