Nonetheless
The circumstances facing Windows Phoneare not the best Distribution of Lumia phones has been reduced after several carriers have turned their backs on Microsoft, and the growth of the app store slowed down, causing the gap between Android and iOS apps to grow instead of shrinking.
The solution on the horizon to these problems is the arrival of Windows 10 Mobile, and a new range of headlining equipment for the new Lumia 950 and 950 XL.But it's still incredible that even in today's context, with no Windows 10 Mobile still on the market, the share of Microsoft's operating system is increasing instead of stagnating or decreasing
This is revealed at least by the latest market share figures provided by Kantar, for the quarter of June, July and August 2015. Based on these data, Windows Phone has experienced notable growth during that period in most major markets.
There has been a significant increase throughout Europe (except Spain and Italy), highlighting in particular the increase in Germany, where Windows Phone increases its participation by 3.6 percentage points to reach 10.5% of the market. In turn, in Great Britain it rises from 11 to 11.3%, and in France it goes from 9.9 to 13.1% participation.
In total, adding the top 5 European markets averages an increase of 1.6 percentage points leaving Windows Phone with a not negligible share of 11%.
There are also positive numbers in Australia, and more importantly, in China, a huge market that has become very competitive , and where Windows Phone has achieved a small takeoff going from 0.7% to 2.3% in just 3 months (it's important to remember that Windows Phone was stuck in China for years with a share of less than 1%).
The counterpart to this is in the United States, where the platform is totally stagnant (quite possibly due to the absence of new flagship phones in the high-end), and in Japan, where Windows falls from 0.6 to 0.3% (that is, an almost non-existent share).
I am going to insist that the most positive aspect of these data is the hope they offer in the face of the arrival of Windows 10 Mobile That is, If Windows Phone has managed to maintain itself and even increase its share in the current circumstances, all the more reason we will see a rebound as soon as a new range of devices arrives in stores with the media push of the Windows 10 brand.
These figures give us hope of improvement before the arrival of Windows 10 Mobile"Obviously this does not guarantee that Windows 10 Mobile will be a success from day one or anything like that (there are other underlying problems that will persist, such as distribution), but it does allow one to expect a significant improvement in he alth>"
