Microsoft explains why they have been slow to release a new build of Windows 10 Mobile
One of the most recurring complaints lately among members of the Insider program is Microsoft's delay in launching a new build of Windows 10 Mobile, the next mobile operating system that the company expects to launch between October and November of this year.
The last build of Windows 10 Mobile that was released, 10512, already dates from 1 month ago, so it already It's time for Microsoft to announce a new version of this preview. However, until now the company has chosen not to release the internal builds they are working on, due to some critical bugs that prevent their everyday use
In this regard, Gabriel Aul, the manager of the Windows Insider program, has indicated on Twitter that they are working to launch the long-awaited new build this week , but also wanted to provide more details on why there has been such a delay with this version.
In an article on the Windows blog, he tells us that they have already solved most of the errors that affected build 10512, such as not being able to share a mobile connection, activating/deactivating Do Not Disturb Mode , or zoom in the maps app. However, when testing this new build they have realized that it has some of the aforementioned critical errors .
Whenever an error of this type is encountered, the following procedure must be followed:
- The team responsible for the area where the error was found should diagnose the problem and repair it.
- "The rest of the Windows team should then verify that the bug is properly fixed, and that the fix has no side effects."
- The solution is integrated into the code of a new build .
- Finally, the new build with the bug resolved is submitted for internal testing within Microsoft.
Unfortunately, during the last 3 weeks 3 critical bugs have been found which have blocked the validation process of a new build, which which has delayed the release of any builds in the fast ring of the Insider program.
However, as we mentioned earlier, Microsoft hopes to be able to fix the last of those bugs this week, so tomorrow Thursday, or FridayWe could already download a new version of Windows 10 Mobile.
