Windows 10 Mobile build 10536 is here. These are their news and known bugs
Table of contents:
After a long wait, we finally have among us a new build of Windows 10 Mobile This build, number 10536, already is available on the Fast Ring channel of the Insider program, so those who are participating in it can download it by going to Phone Updates and pressing the Check for updates button .
And after so long without news, what's good about this new build of Windows 10 Mobile? Lots of stuff. First, there are numerous performance improvements throughout the system.Application loading should be much faster, and the user experience smoother with fewer delays.
Important bugs have also been fixed: we can finally use the share connection and the function Do Not Disturb Mode Fixed an issue that prevented you from zooming with your fingers in the Maps app, and a bug that made it difficult to use two-step authentication.
In addition, support for speech recognition in new languages (Japanese and Indian English) is added, and the Insider Hub is included again, an app with useful information for Insider program members.
Photos app improvements
Microsoft has been paying a lot of attention lately to improving the Windows 10 Photos app experience (for example, adding support for extensions and plugins), and this build is no exception in that regard.
Among the improvements that are now added is support for browse photos by folders This browsing mode will be available as a view icon in the top bar, next to the collection and album views . Also, it will soon be available on Windows 10 for PCs, thanks to an app update.
Support for marking photos as favorites is also added, and overall application performance is improved.
"The phablet mode>"
"Windows 10 Mobile some time ago introduced the so-called phablet mode>easy reach mode, a feature that allows easier access to all screen elements on large phones, even if we are using the equipment with one hand"
This is accomplished by moving the entire interface towards the bottom half of the screen, thus allowing all buttons to be within easy reach our thumbTo invoke this mode, simply hold down the Home button (to deactivate it we can press the button again, or press the upper half of the screen).
"The only problem with this feature is that it was only available for devices that were 5 inches or larger, leaving out phones with relatively large screens that could also benefit from this feature (for example, the Lumia 735 4.7-inch). This is fixed in the latest build, which allows everyone to use easy reach mode"
Known Bugs
As with all preliminary builds, there are certain known bugs that Microsoft warns us about in advance, and in some cases provides fixes to resolve.
- Notifications do not appear after rebooting the phone, unless we unlock the device. Notifications are displayed normally after that.
- "Within the Settings app there is a button called zStorage. Pressing it closes the Settings app (recommendation: do not press it)."
- In some cases the upload of camera photos to OneDrive is automatically disabled. To resolve this you need to update OneDrive to the latest version, and then enable photo upload manually.
- It is currently impossible to move from the slow ring to the fast ring of the Insider program from Windows 10 Mobile. If we want to do this we will have to use the Windows Phone Recovery Tool to return to Windows Phone 8.1, and from there directly enter the fast update ring.
- Special camera features of the Lumia 1020 cannot yet be used with the Windows 10 Mobile camera apps. For now, the only option for users who don't want to lose those features is to stay within Windows Phone 8.1.
Things to keep in mind when we update
If we are using a phone with build 10512 of Windows 10 Mobile we will have to install various updates in order to reach build10536.1004, which is the build that Microsoft just released.
"When you open the Phone Updates section, you will see 2 pending updates: build 10514 and build 10536.1000 . After installing both, another will appear, build 10536.1004, which is the build released to Insiders. It is very important that we install all these updates, and stay with the final build"
In case we have problems with this procedure, we can go back to Windows Phone 8.1 and update directly to the final build using the Windows Insider app.
Or you have to update to this new build on computers that do not yet have official support for Windows 10 MobileAnother very important thing is that, if we are registered in the Insider program, this new build will appear available for all Windows Phone computers, but in reality it can only be installed on officially supported computers (if we try to install it on other computers, the build will not work and we will have to reflash the terminal).
