One of the problems that plagues the Windows app stores, along with the lack of important titles, is bad search algorithmsthat sometimes make it difficult to find what we want, even if it is an app that is published for the Microsoft ecosystem.

Luckily, it seems that this will be resolved with the arrival of Windows 10 That's what they promise at least in Redmond, where they just published a note announced important changes for the Windows application stores, which will be applied together with the arrival of the new operating system.

These include the use of new search algorithms, which will improve the relevance of the results by using information such as number of clicks , number of downloads, user comments and reviews, and keywords.

In addition, app reviews will also be displayed in a better way, highlighting those that are more recent and have received a better rating from the community.

Unfortunately, the new store will not show the version of the applications, date of last update, or list of compatible devices, when least not for now. In Microsoft they affirm that they are working to redisplay this information through a future update of the Store. In the meantime, developers are asked to add this data to the app description every time they release an update.

Another bad news is that installing mobile apps from the desktop, remotely, will no longer be available This is probably due to because the new universal store now treats all applications in the same way, regardless of whether they are mobile or PC, and therefore, when opening a mobile application page, we will be automatically redirected to the Windows 10 store for PC , where the option to install apps on other devices is not yet implemented.

The store will open its doors to universal applications this July 29

Along with announcing the aforementioned changes, Microsoft also reveals that starting next July 29 the store will finally startreceive posts from universal apps for PC and mobile.

This milestone will be accompanied by the release of the final versions of the development tools for Windows 10, which will allow the creation and compilation of these universal applications.

Of course, this doesn't mean that the store will start from scratch on Windows 10 launch day. Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 8.1, which are compatible only with mobiles or PCs, respectively. But it is from July 29 that we will begin to see apps specially designed for Windows 10, which will take advantage of all the new APIs that Microsoft has implemented in this system .
