Windows Phone May Outlook: Lumia 535 Leads Growth
Although only tomorrow AdDuplex will publish its traditional Windows Phone ecosystem statistics , updated for the month of May, today they have already shared a preview of the trends revealed by these new figures.
First of all, and although it is already a bit obvious, the old versions of Windows Phone (7.x and 8.0) continue to drop in their share of use, in order to consolidate the majority position of version 8.1 , something that is very positive, since it implies a less fragmentation of the system
On the other hand, significant usage shares of Windows 10 Mobile (2.3%) are already starting to appear, so despite the problems that have occurred, the Windows Insider program for mobile seems to be successful, allowing this OS to mark an increase of 1.6 percentage points compared to the previous month.
Regarding terminals, there is an interesting rise in the Microsoft Lumia 535, which with a 6.7% share ( within Windows Phone) is already at the top of the list of most used models, surpassing the Lumia 530 and 635, and being only behind the Lumia 520 and 630.
Analyzing the figures at the local level we see that in India the success of the Lumia 535 is even greater, dethroning the Lumia 520 to become the most widely used Windows Phone in that country.
The only exception to this trend is United States, where the team that leads the Windows Phones market is Lumia 635, with almost a 30% share, tripling the popularity of the next model (Lumia 521).
And as always, during May Windows Phone was synonymous with Microsoft Mobile, as equipment made by Redmond (and the former Nokia) continue to account for nearly 97% of all Windows phones.
In short, no change too big or unforeseen, although it's nice to know that the Lumia 535, a great-spec set for your price, is performing well in terms of sales, and dominating in a market as relevant as India.
