Take advantage of the capabilities of Rooms from Windows Phone 7
One of the new features that I find most interesting of all those included in Windows Phone 8 is Rooms, this feature allows you to gather in a only site to a group of people with whom, in addition to enjoying a chat room, we can share images, video, calendar and some notes.
When Rooms was announced it was said that in addition to working on Windows Phone 8 our contacts who use a mobile with iOS, Android or even Windows Phone 7.x will also be able to enjoy of some capacity of the service, and now we show how to configure our accounts to make it a reality.
The first thing is that at least one of the users in the group will have to have a mobile with Windows Phone 8, this will be the creator of Roomsand will add contacts with their respective Microsoft account to make them part of that group, which in alternate operating systems will only be able to access the calendar, pictures, videos, and shared notes.
To enjoy the shared calendar on both iOS and Windows Phone 7.x, just log in with your Microsoft email account on the device and we will automatically have a calendar available with the same name as the Rooms.
On Android things are a little more complicated, since you will have to download the Hotmail application so that later we can access it with our Microsoft account and the respective calendar appears as well as the name of the corresponding Rooms.
To view both the images, video and shared notes the thing is easy, you download the Skydrive and OneNote application for any mobile OSand it is accessed with our respective Microsoft account, so that both in Skydrive a folder with the name of the Room will appear with the shared multimedia files, and in OneNote a notebook with the name of the Room will store all the shared notes.
Although at the moment the availability has only been announced for iOS, Windows Phone 7.x and Android, we hope that in the future from Windows 8 we can also configure our Microsoft accounts to access the elements shared with Rooms thing That would be quite helpful.
