The Xbox Series X and Series X receive support for Dolby Vision to form a winning duo with Dolby Atmos

Microsoft wants to turn its two most current consoles into true multimedia centers and following the plans announced during the launch, it has announced that both the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S become Compatible with Dolby Vision image enhancement system

Through Dolby Atmos both consoles will be able to enjoy object-based audio. An improvement that, yes, will require a compatible TV or audio equipment to be able to get the most out of it. Both consoles now feature with support for both Dolby enhancement systems

Dolby Atmos and now Dolby Vision

The announcement has been made by @majornelson or what is the same, Larry Hryb, on his Twitter account and represents a significant improvement in the quality of the images that we can obtain. It will only be necessary to have a television that supports the Dolby Vision standard

With this improvement, both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S become the only next-generation consoles compatible with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos .

While support for Dolby Atmos was available from the day of its release, the ability to access the image enhancement system Dolby Vision has been delayed for almost half a year since it was announced.

But having said all this, don't go running to check if you have an update ready for your console, because for now the support is being implemented only to those who are part of the Xbox Insider Program on the Alpha Skip Ahead and Alpha channels.
