Xbox Series S Will Support Seagate Storage Expansion Cards
A few days ago we learned about the arrival of the unexpected Xbox Series S at the same time that we learned about the release date of this console and the Xbox Series X. Both will debut on the market on November 10, with reservation periods that will be opened in advance."
From the Xbox Series S we already have its most important data on the table. Priced at $299, it's the budget option for those looking to get into the new generation of Microsoft. A console that we now know will support the use of Seagate storage expansion cards, just like its big brother.
Given the higher quality of the games in each generation, the times of the storage cards of a few megabytes that, for example, the original PlayStation offered, are far gone. Now, with some games in 4K, it takes hundreds of megabytes or even gigabytes, to be able to rest easy.
The Xbox Series X debuts a storage system via Seagate storage expansion cards. Despite having a storage space of 1 TB via SSD, the extra storage seems basic. Let's imagine then in the Xbox Series S that it arrives with 512 GB of storage instead of 1 TB.
The news has been confirmed by Microsoft itself. Both consoles will support the Seagate Storage Expansion Card, so in both cases you can expand the storage capacity by 1TB. An expansion that also maintains the speed and performance of the original storage.
Good news that Seagate storage expansion cards can be used. Now all that remains to be known is the price of each of these cards and if it's any indication, the equivalent PC units cost around 200 euros.
Remember for the rest that the Xbox Series S has a GPU that offers 4 teraflop of performance, compared to 12.5 teraflop of the Series X. Delivers approximately three times the performance of the Xbox One GPU, enabling gaming at 1440p and 60 frames per second, with support for up to 120 fps.
Both Xbox Series X and Series S will be available for purchase starting November 10 and pre-order starting September 22 , in time for the powerful Christmas shopping season.
