FastStart reaches all Xbox One users to improve installation times of video games
Table of contents:
We announced it a few days ago. FastStart was an improvement that was going to cause a smile in more than one user. A novelty that was going to shorten the waiting times necessary when installing a game and that was already being tested within the users of the Xbox One Insider Program. But the wait for the rest of mortals is coming to an end and it is that FastStart is now available to all console users
The improvement comes from Microsoft, which has announced that the July update for Xbox One will bring various new features being the main one the FastStart smart download system that was announced during E3 2018.This way we won't have to wait for the game to download completely before starting to use it.
Less time to start playing
On its day we announce it: FastStart is an improvement that allows time savings of up to 50% when it comes to start playing a game. It will be enough to download only a part to be able to start using it, at least in the basic aspects and while the rest of the data will be downloaded in the background. To do this, the system determines which files are needed to start a game and prioritizes their download.
FastStart uses a machine learning system based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) that detects how users start playing in order to obtain better results
It is a significant improvement over the existing system called Ready to Start FastStart is a functionality that is based on machine learning that makes the system depending on how each user plays. To improve performance, games that support this enhancement will download at the highest speeds supported by our network. We are going to need a minimum of 20 Mbps of bandwidth.
Keep in mind that not everyone will be able to use FastStart and for now it is only functional with Xbox Game Pass titles and some other selected games. All compatible titles appear on the official website.
FastStart is the main but not the only improvement. Also we will see an improvement for Pins with which we can create multiple collections of any content included in My Games and Applications that we can then add individually in the Start menu or even sort and customize them.
The Guide also changes and now there will be room for Groups, so that they will be available on any console in which we register with our user account.
Regarding usability, content search has been optimized by being able to use the “Y” button in the control pad anywhere in the interface. When pressed we will see a search dialog box appear. In addition improvements have been added for Mixer among which full-screen transmission with the webcam stands out and, incidentally, improvements have been added that seek to improve the quality of the video during transmissions.
