These are some of the new features of the Xbox One April update
Following a March update packed with much-requested new features like more transparency in live tiles and the ability to take screenshots, Microsoft is already working on what will be the April update for the Xbox One operating system As always, new enhancements will reach users first who participate in the Xbox One Preview program, who will be able to test the features in Beta phase, and provide feedback to help refine them towards the final update.
But unlike other occasions, for the month of April Microsoft wanted to launch the preview of its update in 2 phases or stages . The first one is already being distributed to voluntary users, and offers us the following new features:
-
Improvements in the group chat system. A wizard has been added to solve hardware, configuration or connectivity problems that are preventing starting a group chat via Xbox Live.
-
"
Game Hubs play a bigger role. For those who don&39;t remember, Game hubs are a feature added in the February update that seeks to concentrate in a single place all the content related to a certain game. For example, when entering the Forza Horizon 2 game hub, it shows which of our friends are also playing it, what achievements they have obtained within the game, access to streaming and recordings of other users playing, etc. With the April update more links to these game hubs will be added, from sections such as the social activity feed, or the achievements application, making it easier to access them."
-
Better achievement notifications. Achievement notifications will be changed to let us know exactly what we did to deserve the achievement we're earning . This way we will avoid having to enter the achievements application to obtain this information.
As you can see, while these are all useful improvements, there aren't any changes that are rocket launching. But as we mentioned above, there are still news to be revealed for this month, which will be revealed in phase 2 of the April preview, which will reach the users over the next week.
