First image of the new XBox ONE seen in the spectacular presentation made by Microsoft of its new console. A presentation that had a very Microsoft opening with an unexpected cameo by film director Steven Spilberg."
Multimedia and telecommunications center
The Xbox ONE becomes a true multimedia center where we can play games in high definition, thanks to its 8 cores and 8Gb of RAM, listen to music and watch videos and TV.
In addition to this we must add the video conferencing capabilities offered by its full integration with Skype. We can receive calls while we play, and with a single voice command answer in split screen.
Finally, the demonstration of the complete and complex management of the console and its operations through voice commands and movements detected with Kinect has been impressive , which is now standard.
Hardware and Specifications
Xbox One is a real beast when it comes to specs. According to Microsoft,AMD 64-bit 1.6 GHz processor, with 4MB L2 cache.800 MHz GPU with DirectX 11.Hardware blocks for dedicated tasks to offload the main processing units.8 GB of DDR3 RAM.USB 3.0Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n.Video: HDMI 1.4a input and output, S/PDIF output.Blu-ray drive, supports 50GB discs.
The new Xbox One controller
The new Xbox One controller has been slightly redesigned. The battery pack on the back disappears and the directional pad now has a cross shape. And finally, a neat feature of the new Xbox One controller is that developers can program trigger feedback.
Real and fast multitasking
One of the most striking features of the Xbox One is multitasking. We mentioned before that you could receive a Skype call while you were playing, but it is not limited to just that .
We can run several applications and games at the same time, in a snap> mode"
Xbox Live is also renewed
The cloud side of Xbox has also been revamped. For example, we can start playing a game while it is being downloaded, or save all the data in the cloud to recover our game, profile and so on on any other console.
As for multiplayer, we've got quite a few improvements.Smart Match will eliminate waiting to enter multiplayer games (theoretically), achievements will be automatically captured on video, and speaking of videos, we will be able to record moments of our games, edit them and share them directly from the Xbox.
It's Not Just Video Games: TV on Xbox One
Microsoft has made sure to make it clear that the Xbox is the center of living room entertainment. The Xbox One will have an HDMI input port where we can connect a DTT or cable TV tuner, and thus watch and control television directly from the console.
In this way, the new Xbox will give us additional features, such as viewing program guides with just one command or switching between channels just by naming them, among other things.
There will be no backward compatibility with Xbox 360
Finally, some bad news for those of you who have a lot of Xbox 360 games: they won't be compatible with Xbox One. It's not strange given the architecture change, but it does miss some option to download the games from the cloud repurposed, as it happens in the PlayStation 4.
Maybe this is good for Microsoft to be able to continue selling Xbox 360 to users and to avoid dragging an old version for a longer time, but it's certainly a bad point and it might make people back down some users.
Prices and availability
"Microsoft continues in its thirteen of not giving prices or availability in the presentations. The worldwide release date is later this year, but we don&39;t know anything about pricing."
