All About Xbox SmartGlass

Anonim

By October 26, a new service will launch in parallel with the launch of Windows 8, this is called Xbox SmartGlass, but more than a service, it is an application for our tablets and phones (at first) with Windows 8 that allows us to have full control of the console Xbox 360 as well as the inclusion of some extras to take advantage of within compatible games.

With Xbox SmartGlass, Microsoft wants to bet on the use of various screens for greater inclusion in the Xbox game system, although we are far from actually entering the game, this system would allow greater interaction between the virtual world of the game and the real world.

But not everything stays in the game, because some applications would take advantage of Xbox SmartGlass as a peripheral to move between its interface, or some others they would do it for remote playback of some content. Here is a video that best exemplifies its functions:

In summary, Microsoft has put four main uses of the Xbox SmartGlass:

  • Multiscreen, our tablet or phone can become an extra screen to enjoy some content via streaming, whether we stay in the middle of a movie or a TV series on the Xbox, we could resume our reproductions on the device, in addition it is also announced that some sports channels would offer additional information about their games to view it in our application.
  • Games, the games will be the ones that take best advantage of the addition of a device with a touch screen within the games, either just for display information (maps, plays, strategy,..., etc) or to have some kind of interaction with our game characters.
  • Remote Control,to control the playback of multimedia content from the console
  • Internet Explorer, the touch screen of the device will be used to move through the famous browser, a simple but useful trackpad
  • Now we only need to know when some other operating systems will join the compatibility with this application, since at least when it comes out there will be few users who will be able to enjoy it.
