A more realistic level: this is what Microsoft could achieve with Flight Simulator if they apply the use of RayTracing and Bing at the same time
Table of contents:
Microsoft is not very prone to having games among its best-known titles, but there is one that stands out greatly and makes that maxim an exception. This is Microsoft Flight Simulator, a title that has been with us since time immemorial and that is now back in the news.
And the fact is that Microsoft is working on a new installment of Flight Simulator which, according to the first images, will achieve a notable aesthetic section. To achieve this, Microsoft will take advantage of the use of RayTracing technology in the PC version, one of the next revolutions in the field of video games.
Graphics on another level
RayTracing or ray tracing in Spanish, is an improvement achieved thanks to the use of a series of algorithms that allow us to deduce where it relapses the light and in this way manage to show the reflections and refractions in real time as little as possible. A technology that we have already seen in a title such as Battlefield V. The light and lighting on objects and the environment is calculated dynamically and in real time based on the point from which we are going to observe the scene in what would be our virtual camera.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is currently in an initial development phase, but IGN has echoed the possible inclusion of the RayTracing systemthanks to Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics.
In the case of the Microsoft title, we are talking about a video game in the form of a simulator in which elements such as the weather in real time and therefore light effects affect the satellite images as well as other items. Its impact on the final image that shows the game is fundamental
A technology that requires powerful equipment, as we saw in its day, given that the computing power required by the person who uses it scene with real-time lighting is beyond the vast majority of computers on the market.
Also with Bing
Microsoft Flight Simulator could also be integrated with Bing, the search engine of the American company. At least, that is what emerges from the first tests. The objective? Well, it is quite evident that adapting the game to what happens in real time.
Bing's integration in Flight Simulator does more than just represent weather in a totally accurate way. If, for example, there is a storm in an area, this would apply to our game if we are flying over that same area.
IGN's statement has not received a response from any of the companies mentioned and neither Microsoft nor Nvidia have confirmed or denied any collaborationin future projects including Flight Simulator.
