SLI/Crossfire and vsync create controversy with games purchased from the Windows Store
It was more than a rumour, but it has been so popular that finally even a member of the Microsoft community has had to come forward and deny everything said about the unable to disable vsync on games purchased from Windows Store.
The social networks were responsible for this rumor, referring to the most successful games on the Windows platform, those we all know as triple A and which are characterized by being the ones that require the most resources in their production and almost certainly, for achieving significant sales.
The rumor was referring to the fact that in the games bought in the Windows Store, only and exclusively in this store, not they supported SLI/Crossfire, it was impossible to disable vsync, they didn't allow full screen usage, they didn't allow mods and so on, a good number of options.
But at this point we are going to make a subsection and before continuing let's explain what is vsync and SLI/Crossfire just in case someone in the room does not control the subject, so if you already know, you can skip this short explanation and continue with the news a little further down.
What is vsync and SLI/Crossfire
When we talk about vsync we are referring to the function that is used to synchronize the number of frames generated by the graphics card with the rate of refresh of the monitor and in this way avoid the appearance of visual defects, such as bands, flickers or sudden movements, due to the limitation of the monitors.
If we talk about SLI/Crossfire we do it with two proprietary technologies (one from nVidia and the other from ATI) that allow us to use 2 or more cards simultaneously in such a way that the power of the games can be increased.
The denial… halfway
And once these functionalities have been explained, we continue with the news, a rumor that has caused a member of the Microsoft community, Mike Ybarra to enter to try to settle the controversial, but achieving it only in part.
Regarding vsync, he has stated that this is the case for now, that it is impossible to disable vsync, although they are working to solve it as soon as possible possible and regarding SLI/Crossfire it states that Windows Store games work with this system but (there's always a but) if they are compatible
Therefore, half denial, something that has caused anger among platform users, who find these limitations without embargo is not given if the games are purchased>"
