In the deal, Microsoft uses its Azure-based cloud services (we now see why Azure is important to Microsoft's future) to offer connected services to these brands' cars.
An agreement in which, together with Azure, efforts will be made to that developments based on AI and IoT have a leading roleIn this way, manufacturers will be able to deploy updates via OTA, generate reports on vehicle operation in real time or offer something as basic as navigation system updates.
For now it is a project, with a long way to go The connected car is a reality, but for now it is only in its beginnings and we can't even think about what it can give of itself. Keep in mind that of the three brands that participate in the alliance, only two models will bet on this starting technology. The Renault Clio in the European market and the Nissan Leaf in the Japanese. These are the two initial models to test updates via OTA, Infotainment or the first with access to Microsoft Connected Vehicle technology.
