Microsoft will grow based on Windows: Artificial Intelligence
Recently we saw how our colleagues from Xataka told us how Microsoft made money. After the failure of the mobile operating system, the future was based on the use of Artificial Intelligence and the commitment to quantum computing and Mixed Reality
A policy that is now confirmed in the words that Kevin Scott, _Microsoft's chief technology officer_, has left for Fortune magazine and in which he refers to what will be the key points for the American company from now to the next few years: Mixed Reality, quantum computing and Artificial Intelligence.
An interview in which he affirms that the company has in mind a growth based on three points and an eye, because in none of them does its great star appear, the Windows operating system with the current version. For Scott, these will be the three pillars on which the future Microsoft must grow:
- Quantum computing
- Mixed Reality
- IoT (Internet of Things) devices and their use based on Artificial Intelligence (AI)
In Scott&39;s words to the interviewer he stated that all three will be extremely important platforms in the future. And to make a platform work on a global scale, you have to invest and believe that it&39;s real."
Given these words, he was asked aboutif the company would continue to invest in these fieldsin anticipation of a low adoption in the current market the moment. The question focused on Mixed Reality and it made a lot of sense, since we have seen how at Microsoft they give up a field when it is not profitable. We've seen it with Windows Phone and we may see it with Cortana as well.
In this regard, Scott replied that in the case of Mixed Reality, investment not only has not decreased, but has grown on top of that the result of the effort that the company wants to carry out so that it is a technology that works and spreads throughout society in the long term."
Asked about the use of Artificial Intelligence, the words were crystal clear:
It is clear that the future of Microsoft goes through a different type of development than what we have seen so far. In a few days at MWC we will be able to have more news from the future as seen at Microsoft.
