Microsoft updates Office for iOS in the Insider Program and adds improvements to Outlook in its public version
Table of contents:
Two days after seeing how Windows 10 April 2018 Update arrives, it's time to continue talking about updates at Microsoft although this time it's about of an _update_ that arrives only for users who are within the Insider Program and no, it is not intended for Windows 10 on Redstone 5.
We are talking about Office and the American company has launched a new _preview_ of Office for users who are in the Insider Program and use an iOS device, be it an iPad or iPhone. An update that brings improvements and also some functions that we review.
This update has version number 2.13 (18043002) and comes to improve the three great applications found in Office, namely: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint .
- Now, with this new update, both Word, Excel and Powerpoint users on an iPad or iPhone will be able to access and use previous versions of files that were saved in the cloud storage service (OneDrive) or shared on Sharepoint.
- You can now search for company members in your user directory within Outlook for iOS at work.
- Viewing previews in Outlook for iOS has been improved and is now faster.
- It is now also possible to share those files with others via email.
- Outlook documents can now be opened and edited directly in Word, Excel, or PowerPoint from a mobile device.
This new update can now be downloaded from the App Store if you are an Office _previews_ user.
Outlook Improvements
Also, keep in mind that Microsoft has also released a general update for Outlook that adds new features on all platforms.
We can thus see improvements in the business field such as those related to invoice payment notices in Outlook.com, since the application will send a notice to the mail in advance of the payment of said invoice. It also adds the option to search for and reserve a meeting place for events noted on the calendar, and it is even possible to see the attendees even if you are not the organizer.
Time zone support with up to three different zones has been improved and the option has been added so that Outlook notifies us if we have received an email through an address BCC, as hidden and thus respond only to the person who sent said email.
