Microsoft updates SwiftKey for iOS and Android and now allows sharing location and calendar tasks

Anonim

Microsoft has a large presence in the different operating systems, even if they are supposedly rivals. And we say this taking into account that Microsoft has no presence in the mobile market and therefore little rivalry. However, it is curious how those from Redmond go further and do not want to limit themselves to the Windows ecosystem

To do this they have a large number of applications on iOS and Android, the latter being especially striking. And it is that they have succeeded with Microsoft Launcher and together with this app they offer other classics such as their browser, Edge, OneDrive or the one that concerns us now, the SwiftKey keyboard.

A keyboard that for many may be perhaps the best available on the market and that despite the evolution that developers have been giving to the keyboards they offer on their computers. Google, Samsung, HTC, Sony… very good user experiences when entering text but SwiftKey is still there.

Microsoft had a good eye when it took over the company responsible for SwiftKey and since then the keyboard has been updated with interesting improvements far to disappear from iOS and Android to be limited to Windows Phone. Mobiles with the Microsoft seal did not work and SwiftKey continued its journey in other places with successive improvements with the one it has just received.

And with the latest update, SwiftKey has released the option to share location and calendar and has improved the configuration options. An update with version number 7.0 on Android and 2.3.1 on iOS:

From the keyboard itself we can therefore share the information related to these two aspects (location and calendar) without having to leave the app. These are the changes we will see coming:

  • We can quickly share the address of your current location although it is currently only available in the US and India.
  • You can share calendar events from your keyboard.
  • Added option to press and clear double word predictions.
