Microsoft updates its OneDrive app for iPhone and iPad by improving the interface and making it easier to use
OneDrive is one of the most interesting alternatives on the market when it comes to having our content stored in the cloud and always at our disposal. For price it is even more interesting than Dropbox, although the latter is better known.
And with the aim of continuing to win customers and users, Microsoft have released a new update, in this case focused on iOS that adds a good number of new functions to the application that we are now going to see.
And the first change we are facing is a renewed user interface that seeks above all to facilitate document management tasks at the time of scanning. In turn, with this update it is easier to keep track of the modifications we make to the files more frequently.
"A new tab called My User has been added that allows you to concentrate the most important files and functions in a single section. In this way we can change accounts, manage the storage capacity we have or download files offline."
With the change of the interface in addition a contextual menu has been added next to each element that makes it easy to interact with the items without having to perform complicated gestures. In the particular case of the iPad, the use made of the app in column mode has been improved so that visibility is now improved without losing sight of the file names.
On the other hand, on the iPad OneDrive has been made compatible with the drag and drop function so that we can drag a file to another folder or an image stored from OneDrive to our mail.
In addition, OneDrive now lets you access any file or folder regardless of whether it's stored on OneDrive or SharePoint. We can access any type of file in preview RAW, JPEG, 3D Objects, TIFF or Java/Swift/C among a total of 130 different types.
In addition, Microsoft has added support for Microsoft Flow within business and education environments so that your users can create automated workflows between OneDrive and other services.
OneDrive is now available for download from the App Store in version 10.1. It is an update that, as we have said, is focused on iOS, both for iPhone and iPad.
