Microsoft goes shopping and acquires Swing Technologies to improve Skype's performance
It's time to talk about purchases between companies and it's that from Redmond they have a new addition to their organization chart It is the company Swing Technologies, developers of SWNG, the application that allows you to easily create moving photos and is currently available for iOS. A purchase that the company itself has announced.
"This is one of the trends that we are seeing lately in mobile terminals. The ability to save small moving clips when you actually take a photo.A kind of interactive photos that we have already been able to test on iOS in the form of Live Photos or with some Android applications."
Swing Technologies is thus integrated into Microsoft and therefore the workers of a company do it, many of whom previously developed his work within Apple, Google or Instagram which will now become part of the Skype team.

But what is Microsoft looking for with this acquisition? When integrating Swing workers into Skype it seems clear that the goal is to use their expertise to develop new features and improvements that should be integrated into Skype .
Thus from Microsoft, in the words of Amritansh Raghav, Microsoft's corporate vice president for Skype, this purchase represents a fundamental contribution to improving Skype's features :
A good opinion corroborated by Tommy Stadlen, co-founder of Swing Technologies, who sees an unbeatable opportunity for growth becoming part of Microsoft:
You have to keep in mind that Skype as a solution for communications is no longer what it used to be and despite the fact that it has continuous updates and presence in other ecosystems outside of Windows, currently it has seen how instant messaging applications (WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook Messenger...) have won the game by including similar options and having a better impact among the general public.
Therefore with this movement from Redmond they would be trying to breathe life, to give a second youth to an application that is increasingly it is more difficult to maintain the number of loyal users that it once had.
