The IDSA awards recognize the good work of Microsoft in the design of Surface Studio and the Xbox One S
Traditionally when talking about electronic design, there has always been a brand that has come out to occupy the top positions. Based in Cupertino, the people of Apple have been a reference for many years but in the search for this achievement it is increasingly difficult to repeat the first place.
And it is that the competition has put the batteries. It is not just about creating good products, but also about making them eye-catching and with a remarkable design. There we have cases like Samsung, LG or the case that interests us: Microsoft. And it is that the American company has been showing off the aesthetic section of its products very well for some time and that is something that now has its reward by receiving two IDSA awards.
For those who don't know them, these IDSA (Industrial Designers Society of America) awards, refer to different sections in which a product stands out from the restand can also mean a change of direction in the family that he represents.
And in the case of Microsoft two of its most recent releases have received awards On the one hand, the spectacular Surface Studio, the all-in-one one with which Microsoft has stood up to Apple's iMac and in which we see a design of many carats.
Secondly, the penultimate home console, the Xbox One S, whose immaculate appearance and great design we already talked about in our review and which served to leave behind the mammoth look of its predecessor They did such a good job that the Xbox One X drinks from the waters of the Xbox One S. And finally, we can't forget the HoloLens and the Surface Dial.
In the case of the Surface Studio, this has been awarded the gold medal for best design, according to the IDSA for the change that it implies when facing creation of digital content and the commitment to changing the image of all-in-one equipment users.
Meanwhile, the console, the Xbox One S, has been awarded the bronze medal for appreciating values such as the ability to play content in 4K and the commitment to HDR (High Dynamic Range). Likewise, the design has been awarded and aspects such as the inclusion of the power supply have been valued.
And regarding the HoloLens (of which a second version is already expected), the awards recognized with the gold medal in the category of Consumer Technology, the commitment they represent to Augmented Reality to "achieve new ways of creating, communicating, working and playing”.
The Surface Dial, finally, also won a prize in the form of a gold medal. An award with which the IDSA awards highlighted the fact of representing a new, more natural and immersive way to interact with technology.
Four awards that speak of the great work that Microsoft has been carrying out in recent years with its products.
