They look like normal glasses but they are actually a prototype of Microsoft's augmented reality glasses

"

We have already spoken on other occasions about the Microsoft project that under the name of Windows Mixed Reality tries to bring the use of augmented reality (not only virtual) closer to consumers A project of which we have already seen the first attempts to be noticed by manufacturers such as Lenovo or Acer."

And it is that from Redmond they have high hopes for this platform, something that can be seen in the different prototypes in which they are involved and whose latest exponent is constituted by augmented reality screens that allow the generation of holograms to interact with the user.

This new display technology developed by Microsoft Research has nothing to do with the HoloLens that we all know and bases its operation on the generation of digital images using a laser light according to the information offered by a computer to which they are connected.

A miniature system that includes the laser system, the necessary mirrors and the electronics and that allow its use (given its small size ) in the almost conventional frame of a glasses to use, which makes the screen the glass of the glasses and therefore is very close to the eye.

This proximity will also make the user perceive a superior quality in the image that is generated which will also have a color level, superior contrast and resolution.A development that is complemented by the use of eye tracking technology. In this way, the quality of the image is improved at the point where the user focuses his gaze, even allowing the correction of optical aberrations.

For now It is a prototype for which possible applications are unknown, although it highlights that they could be used to correct defects in sight as astigmatism, since such a screen allows a user to see the screen without their glasses.
