Alexa and Amazon may have competition if Microsoft makes Windows 10 Home Hub rumors come true
Recently we told you how Microsoft had worked closely with Harman Kardon to bring the world of personal assistants into our homes with a speaker, Harman Kardon Invoke, which, let's face it, was very reminiscent of the Amazon Echo. That made some think that this could be the bid to get Cortana to control our home but it seems there is more.
And the fact is that the size of a company like Microsoft makes it self-sufficient so as not to have to depend on third parties to launch products beyond the strictly usual ones. And that is what has happened this time with a leak that has surprised us with a name: Windows 10 Home Hub
With this device called Windows 10 Home Hub, Microsoft would come to compete not only with Amazon Echo, but also with the recent Amazon Echo Show. And the reason is obvious, because both devices would have a large screen although in the case of the Microsoft model this could be larger.
Based on the use of Windows 10, the computer could have a front camera with which to recognize the different members of the houseand adjust their predictions, forecasts and task scheduling to each other's needs independently. We could thus have access on the screen to our reminders, calendar, pending tasks...
Windows 10 Home Hub would arrive with the intention of becoming the nerve center of the home
It would also arrive prepared to become the nerve center of the home by allowing control of all smart and compatible devices in the house, whether be it lighting systems, music equipment, thermostats... so that through the screen or with voice commands to Cortana we had everything under control in the palm of our hand.
And since it is based on Windows 10, applications would play a prominent role since it would not be limited to those offered by the manufacturer of origin but over time developers could create apps to get more out of all kinds of services. For now there is no more information beyond this rumor and maybe in the BUILD 2017 of a few hours we will know some more details about it.
