Windows Defender and the integration with the Edge browser is the next step that Microsoft is already preparing
Table of contents:
One of the obsessions that drive users the most is security. Our data, the ones we store on mobile devices, tablets, computers... are becoming more and more juicy for those who live in the shadows of illegality. That's why it is convenient to watch for the protection of our equipment
Traditionally Windows users have always used antivirus or anti _malware_ programs. To a greater or lesser extent, Windows' weakness in the face of possible attacks makes users try to shield their computers (sometimes with more success than others). And although from Redmond they have always done their part, now they want to go one step further.
To do this they have opted for a movement that may have caught many by surprise. This is the integration of Windows Defender in Microsoft Edge, the house brand browser, a novelty that appears in the latest Build of Windows 10 based on Creators Update and that for many has gone unnoticed.
The key to this integration is in the search for greater protection while browsing the Internet. Protect ourselves against viruses and varied _malware_ without having to install third-party applications. And it is that although Windows Defender has already been integrated since Windows 8, it is now when a further step is taken seeking to carry out a more active protection
Seeking proactivity in protection
To do this, you first need to be a member of the Insider Program to access the latest Builds released. And once we have it installed we must go to Microsoft Edge to follow only two steps, access the Windows Defender information screen
- Within Edge we mark the following instruction: about:applicationguard.
- The Windows Defender Application Guard window will be displayed.
However, if you are not receiving the Insider Program Builds, you still have Windows Defender as a normal antivirus on your computer. This way you have accounts on your computer with front-line defense which makes it unnecessary (and may not be advisable) to install a third-party antivirus ."
