More images of Microsoft Edge extensions are leaked
Table of contents:
Yes, you read that right: we finally know what Microsoft's new browser extensions might look like. Some accessories that should have landed in Edge for months but that the entity has been gradually delaying. However, as we mentioned this week, the truth is that they seem to be just around the corner.
In this way, sources related to its development commented that they would appear in the next Preview version of Windows 10, which will be released in the coming days (on March 30 at their BUILD conference in San Francisco ). Information that corroborates –at least for now- the second filtered images in this regard
The leak
Thus, last December, the entity itself mistakenly published two extensions on the Microsoft website, a page that was available for a short period of time but that we had the opportunity to capture. Specifically, the title of the site read: "Available Microsoft Edge Extensions” and integrated one for Pinterest and one for Reddit.
The matter, however, did not have more than a brief media coverage. An issue that had remained unanswered until today, when an Italian blog called Windows Blog Italia and specialized in this type of content, has published other alleged images of these add-ons , as well as other captures related to specific plugins.
The material shows that these would be downloaded from the Windows 10 Store, a feature that will possibly allow us to pin and use them without need to open edge. As for the filtered extension, it is Page Analyzer which, as its name indicates and according to this information, is a web analyzer.
In any case, and taking into account that this browser is still far behind the big giants like Chrome and Firefox, and that its adoption rate is lethargic ; The inclusion of the extensions, although late, could be an interesting boost for those from Redmond. In fact, currently only 12% of Windows 10 users use it. Some data to which must be added that it is an exclusive browser for a single operating system, something that hinders its growth.
