Table of contents:
Windows 10 Mobile is on everyone's lips, but its open arrival should not make us forget that Builds for Insider members continue to come outthat allow you to test features in advance that will later be released in the open version.
Some versions that bring, as is to be expected, bugs, as they are in earlier stages of development and that is why Microsoft warns that let's read carefully what are the bugs that may cause, before proceeding with their installation.
To do this, they leave us with a list of the possible _bugs_ that we can find, both in the version of Windows 10 Mobile and in Windows 10 for PC, in the same way that they also establish a list of the known and corrected errors
Known bugs in Windows 10 for PC
- Continuing to investigate an issue where some Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4, and Surface Book experience freezes or hangs and all input mechanisms such as keyboard/trackpad and touch stop working. The solution is to press and hold the power button to force restart the device.
- The PC might crash when connecting an Xbox One or Xbox 360 controller and other game consoles in this build.
- If you are using Hyper-V and have a virtual switch configured for your network adapter, you may see an error indicator (a red ?X?) in the notification area of the bar of tasks. The error flag is incorrect and the network adapter should still work fine.
- We are seeing reports of some applications such as QQ continuing to shut down. We are currently investigating, and this bug may also affect older applications such as Windows Live Mail and Expression Encoder 4.
- If you have Kaspersky Anti-Virus, Internet Security, or Kaspersky Total Security Suite installed on your PC, there is a known driver error that prevents these programs from working as expected. We have partnered with Kaspersky to fix this issue in future releases, but at this time there are no known workarounds. While this issue is present, it is recommended that you use Windows Defender or another third-party antivirus product of your choice to stay protected.
Bugs fixed in Windows 10 for PC
- Fixed issue where notification was not aligned when all icons were displayed.
- The problem was solved where with older connections, the WEP security protocol was broken.
- The problem where the ?X? to close tabs in Edge was seen offscreen on 8-inch devices in landscape mode.
- Fixed issue where when connecting a USB, the icon would change to the old eject drives icon.
- Fixed issue where searching in Edge automatically generated a link.
Known Bugs in Windows 10 Mobile
- If you reset the phone to this build (Build 14291) and restore from a backup, the backup will fail to install apps in the greyed out tiled apps list. If you remove the gray tiles and try to reinstall the same apps from the store, data for those apps will not be restored. The next backup will be overwritten. To avoid this, please avoid resetting the phone in this build. If for any reason you need to do so, do not restore your phone from a backup and turn off backup of operating system apps and data to avoid creating a corrupted backup via Settings> Update & security> Backup.
- If you have a Microsoft Band 1 or 2 paired with your phone, your phone will stop syncing after upgrading to this version due to an API system crash that occurs after the upgrade. To get it back in sync, you can temporarily change your phone's language as a short-term fix until we release a new one. Also, one can also choose to reset the phone to get out of this state, however, you may experience this update issue again with the next build until this issue is fixed. This issue may also affect Skype video and audio calls.
- The Gadgets app will not detect the Microsoft Dock on Windows Insider builds, and therefore will not be able to update the firmware version. If you have a dock that has already been updated to version 4, then this will not affect you. If you have a dock that hasn't been updated, then you may experience some minor issues with USB-C stability. You will still be able to use the dock and Continuum.
- There's a new option in Settings> Update & Security for the Windows Insider Program. This is an option that is being worked on to improve configuration management for the Windows Insider program on the device. At this time, going to this option will lock the Settings app. Please continue to use the Windows Insider app to manage settings for now.
