If you use Windows 11 you can now download the January Patch Tuesday: these are the improvements it brings
Table of contents:
If a while ago we talked about Patch Tuesday for different versions of Windows 10, now it's time to find out what's new that comes with the first patch of 2022 for Windows 11. It's the January patch, an update which arrives associated with patch KB5009566 with build 22000.434
"The first Patch Tuesday of 2022 focuses as usual on fixing bugs and improving security. A patch that does not prevent some bugs that we will see now and that can be downloaded in the usual way from Windows Update in Settings"
Improvements and fixes
- Fixes a known issue affecting Japanese input method editors (IMEs). When you use a Japanese IME to enter text, the text may appear jumbled or the text cursor may move unexpectedly in applications that use the Multibyte Character Set (MBCS) . This issue affects the Microsoft Japanese IME and third-party Japanese IMEs.
- Security updates for the Windows operating system.
- This update improves the quality of the servicing stack, which is the component that installs Windows updates. Servicing Stack Updates (SSU) ensure that you have a robust and reliable servicing stack so that your devices can receive and install updates from Microsoft.
In addition some problems are still present such as the one related to the image editing programs that we already saw in the past and that can prevent a correct reproduction of colors on the screen.
After installing Windows 11, some image-editing programs may not reproduce colors correctly on certain displays that support High Dynamic Range (HDR). This is often seen with white colors, which can show up in bright yellow or other colors.
This problem occurs when certain Win32 color rendering APIs return unexpected information or errors under specific conditions. Not all color profile management programs are affected and the color profile options available on the Windows 11 settings page, including the Microsoft Color Control Panel, are expected to work correctly.
If you installed previous updates, only the new fixes contained in this package will be downloaded and installed on your device. This installation will be downloaded automatically from Windows Update and can also be obtained manually from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
