Microsoft Releases Build 22483 for Windows 11: Search Improvements

Microsoft has released a new build within the Dev Channel in the Windows 11 Insider Program. This is Build 22483, a update that comes with search improvements, new gestures on the right mouse button or a new badge to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the Windows Insiders Program

Remember that builds released within the Dev Channel in the Insider Program no longer have anything to do with the improvements that are coming to the stable version , which are limited to the Beta Channel and Release Preview, so more bugs and errors may occur.These are the changes coming with Build 22483.

Improvements and news

• The 7th Anniversary Badge is here which Windows Insiders will be able to see in the Achievements section of the Feedback Hub in the coming weeks .

• Fixed an issue that caused the search to appear black and not display any content below the search box.

• Fixed an issue that caused mobile data to not work on certain devices in recent versions of the Dev Channel.
• Fixed an issue with NTFS when USN journaling was enabled, where it performed an additional unnecessary action with each write, impacting I/O performance.
• Made some minor improvements to keyboard navigation and use of the Performance Monitor screen reader.
• Webview2 processes should now be correctly grouped with the application using it in the Processes tab of Task Manager.
• Fixed an issue that caused the Publisher column in Task Manager to not retrieve publisher names.

Known Issues

• "Users updating builds 22000.xxx, or earlier, to more recent Dev Channel builds using the latest Dev Channel ISO, you may receive the following warning message: The build you are trying to install is Flight Signed. To continue with the installation, enable flight signing. If you get this message, press the Enable button, restart your PC and try the update again."
• Some users may experience reduced screen timeouts and sleep times. They investigate the potential impact that shorter screen and idle times could have on power consumption.
• Investigating reports from Insiders that the Processes tab in Task Manager is sometimes blank.
• Working on a fix for an issue that caused some devices to check for errors with SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCPTION when upgrading, starting with the previous build. If you had this problem before, try restarting and try the update again.
• Investigating Insider reports that Xbox Game Pass games fail to install with error 0x00000001.

• In some cases, you may not be able to enter text when using Search from the start or taskbar. If you experience the issue, press WIN + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog, then close it.
• The taskbar sometimes flickers when switching input methods.
• Working on fixing an issue that caused tooltips to appear in an unexpected location after hovering over the corner of the taskbar.
• "After clicking the search icon on the taskbar, the search panel may not open. If this happens, restart the Windows Explorer process and reopen the search pane."
• Investigating Insider reports that the volume and brightness sliders are not displaying correctly in Quick Settings.
