Microsoft re-releases a patch for Windows 10 October 2018 Update

Microsoft continues to take care of users who are still on Windows 10. Because not everything is going to be Windows 11 on PCs with the Windows operating system, now it is the turn of those who continue to use Windows 10 1809 or what is the same, Windows 10 October 2018 Update

The new Build arrives with the number 17763.2268, associated with patch KB5006744 in the form of an optional update for Windows 10 1809. It means that you will have to update it by hand within Advanced Options in Windows Update.A build coming to fix printing problems with some brands of printers"

Please note that Windows 10 October 2018 Update is no longer supported and has only received one update outside of this window. In fact, in 2020 and motivated by COVID, they extended support for this edition for commercial versions by six months.

In terms of changes, this update fixes the issue of installing printers via Internet Printing Protocol along with other known issues and minor improvements.

Improvements and fixes

• Addresses a known issue that could prevent the installation of printers that use Internet Printing Protocol (IPP).
• Fixes a problem with PropertyGet in JScript9.dll .
• Fixes an issue where using App-V causes intermittent black screens when logging in to the credentials page.
• Fixed an issue that causes Windows to go into BitLocker recovery after a service update.
• Fixes a problem that causes searchindexer . exe to keep the per-user search database identifiers in the following path after logoff: ?C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\\? As a result, searchindexer . exe stops working and duplicate profile names are created.
• Fixes an issue that causes the DnsPsProvider.dll module to leak memory within a WmiPrvSE.exe process.
• Fixes an issue that prevents Windows 10 Virtual Private Network (VPN) users from connecting to servers of the service Routing and Remote Access System (RRAS) in Windows Server 2019.
• Addresses an issue that prevents software-defined networking (SDN) virtual machines from working when Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) VPN bandwidth throttling is configured.
• Fixed a code integrity issue that could cause a memory leak.

• Enhances the ability of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint to identify and intercept ransomware and advanced attacks.
• Addresses a memory leak issue in lsass.ex on domain controllers in the forest root domain that occurs when You have multiple forests and multiple domains in each forest. SID naming functions leak memory when a request comes from another domain in the forest and crosses forest boundaries.
• Enhances the Windows Server Storage Migration Service by adding support for migrating Windows servers configured with tiering in the Azure File Sync cloud.Additionally, this update resolves various issues and improves reliability. For more information, see Storage Migration Service Overview .
• Addresses an issue with the virtual machine (VM) load balancing feature, which ignores a site's fault domain.

Known Issues
