Make it easier to install Windows 11
OOBE is a system that makes upgrading easier by taking care during the process of performing an initial hardware and software configuration in which the user participates by confirming different options that appear on the screen. Do you remember Windows 95 installations and windows and options? Well, it is based on this concept.
The KB5005716 patch for Windows 10 wants to make it easier for computers to upgrade to Windows 11 Home or Professional so they don't have to wait for the update notice to reach your computers.Remember that the new Windows is being rolled out in stages and rollout is expected to be complete by summer of next year
The KB5005716 patch is intended for computers running recent versions of Windows 10 from the May 2020 Update, October 2020 Update, May 2021 Update and even 21H2 and cannot be manually downloaded from the Microsoft Update Catalog. It is downloaded only during OOBE screen. In fact, Reddit has echoed the screen that appears in the case of a Surface X.
Once downloaded and always connected to the Internet, the user will have the option to choose between Windows 10 and Windows 11 during OOBE. The following is required to take advantage of this enhancement:
- An officially supported device.
- Internet connection active during OOBE.
- You are running Windows 10 version 2004 with KB4586781 (Build 19041.630) and optional update KB4580364 (Build 19041.610). If you have version 20H2 or later, no additional updates are required.
This system will download a cumulative update that includes the Update to Windows 11 feature and will allow the device to download Windows 11 during the initial setup experience."
