Microsoft releases Build 22458 for Windows 11 within the Dev Channel preparing for the arrival of the 22H2 branch

Microsoft launches Build 22458 for Windows 11 and it does so a few days earlier than we are used to lately, since they are usually the Friday the chosen days. An update coming to those who are part of the Dev Channel within the Insider Program.
With this update the company is focused on add improvements and bug fixes before implementing new features and to remember that this branch is already different from the one that integrates the Beta Channel and that is the prelude to the arrival of Windows 11 on October 5.
Changes and improvements
- A new Tips app for Windows 11 is added with a new design and 114 new tips.
- There is still an issue affecting the taskbar where icons appear misaligned or cut off.
- Adds a link to login options in the power menu on Start.

- Fixed an issue that could cause certain games to crash unexpectedly when using ALT + Enter (i.e. switching between full screen and window) during with Auto HDR enabled.
- Fixed an issue that caused text truncation in the Encrypting File System window in certain cases.
- Fixes a rare scenario that could cause an uninstalled box app to unexpectedly reappear after restarting.
Known Issues
- Working to fix an issue that causes some Surface Pro Xs to check for errors with WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR.
- Working on a fix for an issue that causes some devices to check for errors with the DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG error when trying to update to a recent build.
- In some cases, you may not be able to enter text when using Search from the start or the taskbar. If you experience the issue, press WIN + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog, then close it.
- The system is missing when right-clicking the Start button (WIN + X). "
- Taskbar icons shift to the side when in center alignment by default, making the button show hidden icons>"
- The taskbar sometimes flickers when switching input methods. "
- After clicking the search icon on the taskbar, the search panel may not open. If this occurs, the Windows Explorer process must be restarted>"
- The search panel can appear black and not display any content below the search box.
- "When right-clicking files in OneDrive locations in File Explorer, the context menu will close unexpectedly when you hover over entries that open submenus, such as Open With. "
- The widget board may appear empty. To fix the problem, you can log out and log back in.
- Widgets may display the wrong size on external monitors. If you encounter this, you can launch the widgets via touch shortcut or WIN + W on your real PC screen first and then launch them on your secondary monitors.
- Investigating an issue where Windows Sandbox may fail to start for some Insiders after upgrading to this build.
- They work to improve the relevance of searches in the Store.
- Investigating reports that both WSL2 and Hyper-V do not work in this build on ARM64 PCs such as Surface Pro X.
